Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before making a booking at The Old Cider Press Barn. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

1. Definitions

In these terms and conditions:

  • "We", "us", and "our" refer to the owners and operators of The Old Cider Press Barn.
  • "You" and "your" refer to the person making the booking and all members of the holiday party.
  • "Property" refers to The Old Cider Press Barn located in Berriew, Mid Wales.
  • "Booking" refers to the reservation of the Property for the dates specified in the booking confirmation.

2. Booking and Payment

2.1 Booking Process

Bookings can be made online through our booking partners or directly with us. All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation.

2.2 Booking Confirmation

Your booking is confirmed once we have received and acknowledged your deposit payment. We will send you a booking confirmation by email.

2.3 Deposit

A non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total booking fee is required to secure your booking. The deposit must be paid within 7 days of making the reservation.

2.4 Balance Payment

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 8 weeks before your arrival date. For bookings made less than 8 weeks before arrival, full payment is required at the time of booking.

2.5 Security Deposit

An Accidental Damage Deposit of £500 is required when booking the property. This may be waived for a non-refundable fee of £75. The deposit will be returned within 14 days of departure, subject to the property being left in a satisfactory condition.

3. Cancellation and Changes

3.1 Cancellation by You

If you need to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing as soon as possible. The following cancellation charges apply:

  • More than 8 weeks before arrival date: Loss of deposit
  • 4-8 weeks before arrival date: 50% of total booking fee
  • Less than 4 weeks before arrival date: 100% of total booking fee

3.2 Cancellation by Us

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your booking due to circumstances beyond our control, we will refund all payments made by you in full. Our liability will not extend beyond this refund.

3.3 Changes to Booking

If you wish to change any detail of your confirmed booking, we will do our best to accommodate your request. There may be a charge for certain changes.

3.4 Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that you take out comprehensive travel insurance to cover cancellation, personal belongings, and medical expenses.

4. Arrival and Departure

4.1 Check-in Time

Check-in time is from 16:00 onwards on the day of arrival. Early check-in may be possible by prior arrangement but cannot be guaranteed.

4.2 Check-out Time

Check-out time is by 10:00 on the day of departure. Late check-out may result in additional charges.

4.3 Key Collection

Details for key collection will be provided in your arrival information, which will be sent to you approximately 2 weeks before your arrival date.

5. Property Use and Occupancy

5.1 Maximum Occupancy

The maximum occupancy for The Old Cider Press Barn is 28 guests. This number may not be exceeded without prior written permission.

5.2 Purpose of Stay

The property is available for holiday lettings only. No business, commercial, or promotional activities may be conducted at the property without our prior written consent.

5.3 Events and Parties

We understand that The Old Cider Press Barn is ideal for celebrations and gatherings. However, any events involving external catering, entertainment, or additional guests (beyond those staying at the property) must be approved in advance.

5.4 No Smoking Policy

The Old Cider Press Barn is strictly non-smoking throughout. Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas only. Evidence of smoking inside the property may result in additional cleaning charges.

5.5 No Pets Policy

We regret that pets are not permitted at The Old Cider Press Barn. This policy is strictly enforced to ensure the comfort of all guests.

6. Guest Responsibilities

6.1 Care of the Property

You are responsible for taking reasonable care of the property and its contents during your stay. The property should be left in a clean and tidy condition upon departure.

6.2 Damages and Breakages

Any damages or breakages must be reported to us as soon as possible. We reserve the right to charge for any damage or excessive cleaning required after your departure.

6.3 Noise and Behavior

Please be considerate of neighbors and keep noise to a reasonable level, especially between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM. We reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund if behavior is deemed unacceptable.

6.4 Children

Children must be supervised at all times, particularly when using facilities such as the hot tubs, games room, and outdoor play area.

6.5 Working Farm

The property is located on a working farm. Please respect farm operations, follow any safety instructions, and do not enter farm buildings or fields without permission.

7. Facilities and Amenities

7.1 Hot Tubs

The hot tubs are cleaned and serviced between guest stays. Please follow the usage instructions provided. Children must be supervised when using the hot tubs. The hot tubs should not be used after consuming alcohol.

7.2 Wood Burner

The first basket of logs for the wood burner is included in your stay. Additional logs can be purchased on request.

7.3 WiFi and Internet

WiFi is provided for guest use. We cannot guarantee continuous availability or speed of the internet connection due to rural location factors.

7.4 Outdoor Areas

The garden, hot tubs, play area, and fire pit are for guest use. Please use these facilities responsibly and ensure all outdoor furniture is returned to its original position.

8. Our Liability

8.1 Limitation of Liability

We do not accept liability for any loss, damage, or injury to you or any member of your party or to your vehicles and possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors while acting in the course of their employment.

8.2 Force Majeure

We cannot accept liability or pay compensation where the performance of our obligations is prevented or affected by events beyond our control, including but not limited to war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, adverse weather conditions, or other similar events beyond our control.

9. Complaints

In the unlikely event that you have a complaint during your stay, please inform us immediately so that we can take appropriate action. If the issue cannot be resolved during your stay, please write to us within 14 days of your departure.

10. Privacy and Data Protection

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. For details on how we collect, use, and store your personal information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. The terms and conditions applicable to your booking will be those in place on the date of booking.

12. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
